I am excited for the Cherokee Art Market that will take place this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 12 -13, 2019. The booths will be open from 10am-5pm on both days. I am sharing the booth with the phenomenally talented artist Tama Roberts. She works as a sculptor in clay and creates sculptural works using gourds as a base. She will have some fantastic creations available for sale at the market. I have included a link showcasing some of her latest work below.
I will have a few small items in our booth. A few earrings, a child sized belt, an adult belt, a couple of necklaces, and a limited number of 11 x 14 prints on archival 100% cotton 90 lb paper. I will have two sets of weaving designs I use to mock up my patterns and colors before embarking on the journey of creation. The pattern below is the one that I used for the Frogg Friendship Belt. On the personal copy that I keep there are counts for each column and row so I can accurately envision the design before I have measured out the yarn. I will have the limited edition print ᎢᏤ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ / itse ugvwiyuhi / new chief at Cherokee Art Market this weekend. If I have any left, I will make them available through the website next week. I will also have one more but am not posting it here just yet!
I hope you can make it to Cherokee Art Market this weekend! Please check out the work of my friend, and booth mate, Tama Roberts below!
